Privacy Policy

NYC Building Compliance ("we," "us") is a free NYC building-compliance resource published by Resultex Media Group LLC. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the free tools.

What we collect

• Building lookups. When you type an address, owner name, or BBL, your browser queries public NYC Open Data directly. We do not require an account, and we do not store the buildings you look up on our servers.
• Compliance alerts. If you sign up for alerts, we store the email address and the building (BBL/BIN) you asked us to monitor, so we can email you when a new violation appears.
• “Get connected” requests. If you submit the help form, we collect the name, email, phone, building, and message you provide, so we (or a professional you asked to be connected with) can follow up.
• Basic technical data. Standard server logs (e.g., IP address, browser type) and, if enabled, privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers.

How we use it

• To send the alerts you requested, and to let you manage or cancel them.
• To respond to “get connected” requests and, with that request, to connect you with a relevant professional.
• To operate, secure, and improve the site.

What we don’t do

• We don’t sell your personal information.
• We don’t send marketing you didn’t ask for. Every alert email includes one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing deletes your monitoring record.

Sharing

We share information only: (a) with a professional when you ask us to connect you via the help form; (b) with service providers that help us operate (for example, email delivery); and (c) if required by law. Building and violation data itself comes from public NYC Open Data and is public record.

Retention & your choices

We keep alert subscriptions until you unsubscribe, and “get connected” requests only as long as needed to follow up. To access, correct, or delete your information, email [email protected]. You can unsubscribe from any alert instantly using the link in the email.

Security & children

We use reasonable measures to protect the limited data we hold, though no method is perfectly secure. The site is intended for building owners and managers and is not directed to children under 13.
